Partner 1: Stiftskeller Passau

Our history stretching back to 1856, our wine bar belongs to one of the most well known houses in all Passau. The historic chambers of the former Franciscan monastery contain such treasures as the bishop´s room, the hunter´s room and the Gundackerstube with their historical fittings and fixtures, as well as the newly arranged Stiftsherrenstüberl and the atmospheric wine cellar. In our Wachau Wine Garden, you can enjoy the atmosphere of a traditional Austrian wine tavern within the city of Passau itself. Regional specialities, Austrian cuisine, and fish from our own Danube waters round off the experience nicely.

An espresso, capuccino or a classic and simple cup of coffee, always freshly prepared with skill by your barista. Home made cakes, patisserie and a wide range of drinks.

To escape the hustle and bustle of the city, spend a summer´s day lounging on our deckchairs, or come inside and join us in our homely cafe. And, of course, we also have our large and special collection of craft beers.

More than a century ago, in the year 1903, Konditorei/Confiserie Simon was founded in the city of Passau and is still a family owned business. The name has always been renowned here for the sweet tastes made within, and today Simon is synonymous with the finest chocolates, gingerbread, pralines, strudels, cakes and ice cream.

Our name is the perfect introduction, because wine means (almost) everything to us. I have studied, sampled and observed for many years as both sommelier and chef, and realised my dream with the opening of Weingut. To me, it lies somewhere between a classic Vinothek, a wine bar and a bistro. We are not a restaurant, but naturally you can still enjoy food here. Feel free to come by and enjoy a glass of wine, or find a bottle to take home with you. A wide array of purchasing possiblities give us well priced bottles perfect for a quiet night, all the way up to the rarest and noblest of vintages.
